DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND BANKING
The Department of Finance and Banking was established in 1992 and we are one of nine departments of College of Economics at Can Tho University. We have over 20 full time lecturers covering a variety areas of Finance and Banking in terms of teaching and research. Currently, we offer undergraduate, master, and doctoral levels in finance and banking and are responsible to provide high quality human resource in finance and banking for economic development of Mekong River Delta, Viet Nam.
Our programs focus on educating and training human resources in the field of finance and banking with high integrity and responsibility for socio-politico-economic development of the Mekong River Delta and concrete foundation and specialized knowledge in finance and banking. Our programs also aim to develop professional skills for students so that they are able to apply their skills to manage works in the field of finance and banking as well as in corporates. We use Core Banking System and Banking Simulation Office to train banking skills and techniques for students so that they shall be ready to work in banking environment once they graduate. In addition, our programs lean forward to train self-study and self-research and self-adaptation skills for students.
Our programs in Finance and Banking lead graduates to a wide range of career paths including: work in commercial banks, financial markets, industrial and service corporates, economic research institutions and academia.
Aside from teaching, we also engage in a variety research fields including behavioral finance, stock market modeling, corporate finance, commercial banking, taxation, microfinance, and development finance. We also provide financial consultancy services and short-training courses for local businesses and enterprises.
