THE FIRST REVIEW CONFERENCE OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH FOR
HIGH -QUALITY INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS STUDENTS 2020
The first review conference of scientific research for High-quality International Business students at the School of Economics was successfully held on April 26th, 2021. We are delighted to welcome heads of departments, schools, and academic units at Can Tho University. They are from high-quality programs at the School of Foreign Languages, the Faculty of Information Technology, the Institute of Biotechnology, and high-quality International Business students cohort 42, 43, and 44.
High-quality International Business students’ scientific research activities were started for the first time in 2020. After more than a year of implementation, a review conference took place at the School to summarize the achievements and shortcomings which are necessarily surmounted for the next time. The meeting is also a place where students who have done scientific research exchange information and share experiences and skills necessary to meet the rigorous academic requirements of scientific research. Remarkably, discussions and comments by lecturers and students provide useful inputs for a better improvement of scientific research activities in both quality and quantity.
Among 19 accepted scientific research projects, 05 subjects were ranked excellent (accounting for 26.3%), 10 projects were ranked good (62.6%), and 04 projects were ranked quite fairly good (21.0%). At the Conference, the advantages and disadvantages of students in doing scientific research were also frankly shared. Students have good professional knowledge, and quickly approach and adapt to new fields of studies. Simultaneously, students also receive the enthusiastic guidance of their instructors and the timely support of the Department of Scientific Research Affairs, the Department of Financial Affairs, and the Department of Academic Affairs at Can Tho University. However, despite the advantages in conducting scientific research, students still face challenges since they are pretty unfamiliar, albeit amazed, with scientific research activities. In addition, the Covid-19 epidemic has exerted an unexpected impact on the collection of data for their projects.
Through the Conference, lessons have emerged, but it can be concluded that scientific research activities of High-quality International Business students in particular and of the School in general have been fruitful in many facets, and will be soon consolidated.
